What is Weed Matting?
Weed Matting is a woven Polypropylene Material that is UV stabilized to ensure durability of fabric. The weed mat is generally covered in mulch and is typically used as a ground barrier to eliminate weeds. As well as preventing the spreading of weeds it also stops seeds getting into the ground and germinating. Weed Matting will still allow rain to penetrate, allow air flow, fertilizing and will also reduce the need for insecticides and chemicals.
The Weed Matting can be used in a variety of different ways in:

Selecting the Right Weed Matting for You:
Based on past experience, SCN recommends 70 gsm as sufficient for most applications. However, crop type, climate conditions and site aspect are all factors that should be considered when choosing the correct matting for your garden, nursery or orchard.
